On 12 October 2023, Ambassador Boosara Kanchanalai joined Heads of ASEAN of Missions in Brunei Darussalam to inaugurate the 'ASEAN Walk' at Damuan Recreation Park in Bandar Seri Begawan.
The launch was presided over by Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi bin Haji Mohamad who subsequently led all participants for a walk along the path to admire all ten sculptures from each ASEAN Member State. Mstr.Md Haziq Azamuddin bin Hj Sulaiman and Miss Asmah Binti Hj Abd Hamid, young Bruneian-Thai teens and future generations of ASEAN Community also joined the walk.
The ASEAN sculpture project was launched in the late 1980’s with contributions from all six ASEAN Member States at that time. Sculpture from Thailand was made in 1989 by Mr. Saravudth Duangjumpa, Thailand National Artist in Virtual Arts, which has timelessly captured the essence of harmony in diversity of ASEAN Community.
