On 2 December 2023, the Royal Thai Embassy hosted the Reception on the Occasion of Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great, National Day of the Kingdom of Thailand, and Thailand’s Father’s Day at the Royal Thai Embassy. Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi bin Haji Mohamad, Minister of Culture, Youths and Sports and spouse, Datin Hajah Binanun binti Haji Bungsu were Guest of Honours. Head of Missions, diplomatic corps, high rank officials of Brunei Darussalam, business and private sectors, friends of Thailand, Thai community in Brunei Darussalam and media attended the function.

On this occasion, H.E. Ms. Boosara Kanchanalai, Thai Ambassador delivered remarks highlighting several recent high-level exchanges of visits, including an official visit by Thai Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin in October 2023, the Embassy’s role in promoting trade and people-to-people contact, and plans to organise several projects to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations next year.

During the Reception, the Embassy invited Asmah binti Abdul Hamid, Nadia binti Abdul Hamid, half Thai-half Bruneian, and Shannen Tsen Jia Ee, student and award - winning violinists to perform Royal composition songs composed by His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great.

Food and beverages during the function were from Thai caterers, namely Jnom, Chick-in, and Cha Tra mue and gift bags presented to the guests were sponsored by local Thai products distributors, namely Aiking and Hong Guan (Koon Kee), and Hua Ho Supermarket
