On 25 January 2018, the Office of the Defence Attaché, Royal Thai Embassy hosted a reception on the occasion of the Royal Thai Armed Forces Day at the Indera Kayangan Ballroom, The Empire Hotel and Country Club. H.E. Biravij Suwanpradhes and Colonel Sorrawat Pattamakom welcomed the Guest of Honour, Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Major General Dato Paduka Seri Mohd Tawih bin Abdullah, Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces and his spouse, Pengiran Datin Nuur’Izzah Nabilah binti Pengiran Haji Ahmad Mahdi Al-Sufri. On this occasion, H.E. Ambassador also delivered a welcoming remarks affirmed that relations between both nations are thriving, especially the warm defence relations, which over the years have continued to advance since its establishment of diplomatic relations in 1984. Among the guests at the reception were senior officials from the Ministry of Defence, members of the Diplomatic Corps, private sectors and members of Thai Association in Brunei.
