Thai Ambassador working visit to Belait District
On 19 September 2023, Her Excellency Boosara Kanchanalai paid a courtesy call to Yang Mulia Haji Amirol Hafidzin Haji Muhammad, Acting Belait District Officer at the official residence of Belait District Officer. Both sides exchanged ideas on potential cooperation including sharing of expertise to locals in the oil and gas industry as well as bringing Thailand Bazaar to Belait District to promote Thai cuisine.
After the courtesy call, Ambassador and delegation was welcomed by the Acting Director of Museums, Yang Mulia Pengiran Hajah Mahani binti Pengiran Haji Ahmadi to tour the Belait Museum featuring history of the district and cultural history of its people. Afterwards, the delegation went to Sungai Teraban Community Hall to meet with Village Consultative Councils from Mumong, Melilas and Sungai Teraban who are showcasing their OVOP products.
In the afternoon, the visit continues to Mendaram Longhouse and Labi Coffee Farm in Labi where the delegation learns about the cultural heritage of the Iban people and the local enterprise in agriculture industry. The delegation also got to chance to meet two Thais living and working in Labi.
